Life is crazy. Through everything we experience good and bad, it's a beautifully connected ride. From that first breath you take at birth to our last one at death we experience a multitude of situations, problems, but most importantly lessons. Earth I truly believe is a school for our spirit. We all came here to learn and experience something whether we know it or not. One of the important lessons l've learned is that life doesn't have to be so serious. Today we are expected to act, dress, even work a certain way or in certain careers. We take things so seriously and care so much about what other people think and expect of us, we often put our true wants and needs aside. Growing older I often think about my childhood and the state of mind that we had before being so conditioned by society. Being a child is all about experiencing new things, not thinking so critically what others think about you, and feeling wild and free. One thing that has always stuck to me is that freeing and creative feeling making art gave me. It was my true escape and place to explore the world around me. I can remember sitting in those little colored plastic chairs in preschool just scribbling away with crayons all day, I loved it. Being able to turn a sheet of paper and crayons into a creation was so incredible for me. Weaving was a very similar idea in that way. How you could just create fabric out of a few threads and a loom.
